Forty eighth song- Canadian Medley

Today I found myself standing on the Ottawa canal wearing a Tuxedo, a pair of boots and a tuque realizing that a couple of weeks ago I mentioned to some people that “ Hey wouldn’t it be funny if I played and sang a song on the Canal?” Well this is one of those times where a “ Hey wouldn’t it be funny if…” moment actually ends up becoming a reality. About a month ago I was brainstorming different ideas for my video a day challenge. I was trying to think of unique locations in Ottawa and it suddenly occurred to me that it could be interesting to try to film a song skating down the Canal.

At first I thought perhaps I would just grab my guitar and have someone film me but as I started thinking about the possibilities the idea got more and more elaborate. I casually mentioned the idea to my parents a while back. Fast forward a month later and this crazy idea of me playing and singing along on my “Piano” while being pulled down the Canal literally materialized in front of me today.

From the day my parents heard my idea, they got all fired up to try to help me make this video happen. I have been so busy lately and the weather was not really cooperating on the days I had free to try this idea out. But it turns out that family day was a perfect day for this experimentation. Both my Mom and Dad along with my Aunt and Uncle put so much thought into making this happen. So many friends and family members made this video possible. This was a lot of fun! And so today I played a medley of songs to an unsuspecting audience of skaters pulled by a half man half cousin driver on my “Piano” down the Ottawa Canal on a pair of skis.
