Song 131: Mother Nature's Son by the Beatles

The weather is finally starting to warm up and when you have a one year old who is walking and quickly on his way to running, getting outside is a must! Today is Mother’s day and Mel and I spent a good part of the day at the park. Mel is an amazing mother, and it is her second mother’s day with our son Julian. Since Julian is outside more often these days, he has discovered the grass, he loves sand and he is quickly learning that pine cones don’t taste good at all.

It's an amazing thing to watch your own child discover the natural world. There are so manny colours, sights and sounds that are new to him. Chipmunks, squirrels and other little kids are like curious new creatures he sees. “Mother Nature’s Son” is a song that always paints a picture in my head of someone outside on a beautiful day laying in the grass with a guitar and simply enjoying being part of the natural world. Julian is a lucky kid because not only is his mom awesome but his grandma and Oma have been a big help in his life. Both Melanie’s mom and my mom are not far away from us and they have been helping us out with Julian on a weekly basis. I feel lucky to have these people around. Here is Mother Nature’s Son on Mother's Day.
