Song 323: In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly

I had a strange bedtime ritual as a child. My dad would play the record In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly for me as I fell asleep. I usually drifted off before the full 17 minutes had passed, but I often would close my eyes and strange imagery would come to me - making my impending dreams even stranger.

I've had this song in the back of my head since the beginning of the year as one I wanted to record, but I knew I wanted to put a twist on the original. I thought it would be cool to turn it into a (somewhat shorter) jazz tune, and luckily, some of the amazingly talented musicians here in Ottawa were able to help me bring my idea to life.

Rebecca Noelle killed it on the vocals, Steve Boudreau held down the fort on the bass, and my good buddy Jeff Rogers added some soulful sax to the mix. Thanks guys! Here is song #323.
